Shooting - Basic Technique
Summary
The technical side of shooting is basically the same as
long and swerve passing. The rest of it is a mental challenge. Can
players remain calm and composed in front of goal and hit the target?
Make sure they are looking up and spotting the target and the position
of the keeper. The most important technical key is probably the
position of the standing foot to bring the head right up over the
ball. When the shot sails over the bar there is no mystery about what
went wrong. "Accuracy
before power" is the
message we want them to take away from this session.
